The Volvo Ocean Race has been around since 1973 testing human endurance and is considered one of the toughest challenges in the world. The 2017-18 edition will take the teams 45,000 nautical miles around the world, across four oceans, six continents and 12 Host Cities. Lisbon is hosting the race for a third consecutive edition.

The Race Village opens on October 31st and is located on: Doca Pedrouços, Avenida de Brasilia  Algés Lisbon.

The fleet is estimated to arrive on October 29th or 30th, the in-port race is scheduled for November 3rd and the leg starts on November 5th.

Metro: Take the Green line to Cais do Sodré, transfer to train station and take the train towards Cascais and exit in “Algés”.
